Section 53 of the Indian Penal Code 1860, specifically deals with different types of punishments which can be given by the Criminal Courts if the person is held liable under the Code. There are five kinds of punishments stated under Section 53 of the Code:
-Death
-Imprisonment for life
-Imprisonment
-Rigorous Imprisonment
-Simple Imprisonment
-Forfeiture of property
-Fine
Considering the above punishments, the courts are supposed to follow the procedures and provisions which are prescribed under other adjective and substantive laws.

CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — Nueces County District Attorney’s Office representatives have confirmed that Eric Perkins, the attorney of record for capital murder suspect Joseph Tejeda, has asked to be removed as Tejeda’s lawyer.
The judge hearing the case, Manuel Banales, has granted that request, and Kingsville lawyer Sam Fugate tells 3NEWS he is now representing Tejeda.
Tejeda is scheduled to go to trial this month, accused of the 2016 murder of 21-year-old Breanna Wood.
THE mother and father of Brian Laundrie have turned on their longtime lawyer saying he is aware of an excessive amount of about Gabby Petito’s case to be concerned within the Petito household’s lawsuit.
Gabby’s mother and father, Joe Petito and Nichole Schmidt, are suing Brian’s mother and father for “intentional infliction of emotional misery,” after the homicide of their daughter.
