Attorneys who represent Norman residents in a lawsuit against the Oklahoma Turnpike Authority have urged the Oklahoma Supreme Court to deny the agency’s plans after the route for two proposed routes in Norman remain uncertain.

Included in a $5 billion turnpike expansion plan, OTA intends to build a toll road along Indian Hills Road to connect to the South Extension turnpike in the Lake Thunderbird Watershed.

The plans drew outrage from residents who filed a lawsuit last year, which alleges OTA does not have legislative authority to build them, and OTA has tried to improperly fund them. Turnpike projects are

A federal judge on Friday ordered the attorneys for Kari Lake and Mark Finchem to pay Maricopa County $122,200 — money the county’s taxpayers spent to fend off a “frivolous” lawsuit brought before last year’s election.

Turns out judges don’t much like to see the court system used as a campaign prop.

Attorneys should take note of this.

Lawsuit was simply a campaign stunt

You may recall that Lake and Finchem — with financial backing from MyPillow CEO Mike Lindell — filed suit in April

Attorney General Merrick Garland is scheduled to testify in front of the House Judiciary Committee on September 20, a source familiar with the plans told CNN.

The attorney general’s appearance before the panel will be for a standard oversight hearing. It’s routine for top-level executive branch officials to provide general testimony before congressional committees.

But when he testifies, Garland will be facing a number of House Republicans who are his toughest critics, and some have called for his impeachment.

Punchbowl News was the first to report on the date of Garland’s appearance before the committee.

ALBANY — State Attorney General Letitia James on Wednesday filed a lawsuit against the owners and operators of four nursing homes in Queens, the Bronx, White Plains County and in Buffalo accusing the homes of fraud that harmed, neglected and humiliated residents.

“Suffering was immense, and relentless … inhumane behavior,” James said Tuesday. She said the civil action was a warning to all nursing home operators “to get their house in order.”

James claims the company, Centers for Care LLC doing business as Centers for Health Care, misused more than $83 million in Medicaid funds through “multiple fraudulent schemes.” The

Sens. Elizabeth Warren (D-MA) and Ron Wyden (D-OR) sent a letter Tuesday to Attorney General Merrick Garland and Assistant Attorney General Jonathan Kanter pleading them to further inspect the PGA Tour’s deal with Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund to house commercial operations under a new entity.

In the letter, which was obtained by ESPN, Warren and Wyden wrote the deal would “enable the Saudi government’s efforts to ‘sports wash’ its egregious human rights record” and “raises an array of potential legal and regulatory issues, including relating to the PGA Tour’s non-profit tax status and antitrust law.”

The senators argued the

The Petitioner challenges the determination of the Town of Tonawanda (Town), which authorized the condemnation of property owned by the petitioner following a public hearing. The property, situated along the Niagara River, includes a coal-fired electric generating station that was decommissioned in 2016 and water intake structures. Petitioner commenced proceeding No. 1 asserting that the Town failed to publish a brief synopsis of its determination and findings within 90 days as required by EDPL 204 (A) and asserting various other grounds for relief. Shortly thereafter the Town published its determination and findings pursuant to EDPL 204 (A) and petitioner then

We are still waiting to hear when a trial will take place in the Senate now that the House of Representatives voted to impeach State Attorney General Ken Paxton

AUSTIN, Texas — Now that the Texas House of Representatives voted to impeach Attorney General Ken Paxton on 20 articles, including bribery and abuse of public trust, Paxton has been temporarily suspended from his role. It could be permanent if two-thirds of the Senate vote to convict him.

Even if Paxton is not removed, white collar crime expert Stephen Toland said Paxton could potentially face other consequences.

In this case, a competing hotel owner, South Bethlehem Associates, LP, challenged the decision of the Zoning Hearing Board of Bethlehem Township Pennsylvania to grant variances to Central PA Equities 30, LLC for the construction of a new hotel two blocks away. The main issue at hand is whether the competing hotel owner has the legal standing to seek a judicial review of the zoning board’s decision.

The court noted that ordinarily, standing requires a showing of adverse impact, that reflects
