With the closing stages of the negotiations between Australia and the EU over the proposed free trade agreement almost upon us, the EU has proposed a list of 55 further wine geographical indications it wants to protect.[1] Amongst others, the list includes “prosecco” and “vittoria”. The Department of Agriculture is holding a Public Objections Process to assess the impact of accepting these names.

On Wednesday 19th April the Court will hand-down judgment in Morgan and others v Ministry of Justice (Northern Ireland) [2023] UKSC 14. The Court will determine whether Section 30 of the Counter Terrorism and Sentence Act 2021 is incompatible with Articles 5 and/or 7 of the European Convention on Human Rights. Tennessee Republican Gov. Bill Lee on Tuesday signed an executive order designed to strengthen background checks, and called on the state Legislature to pass the equivalent of a red flag law.
During a news conference, Lee said the executive order would ensure that information-sharing “more closely guarantees the safe, lawful purchase of firearms in Tennessee.”
He also said legislation was needed to address deficiencies in existing gun laws.

Law enforcement officials from New Hampshire and Massachusetts are conducting a sprawling search in Revere on Friday in connection with the 2019 murder of 5-year-old Harmony Montgomery.
Manchester police and Massachusetts State Police began searching wetlands along Lynn Marsh Road around 9 am, according to New Hampshire Attorney General John M. Formella and Manchester Police Chief Allen D. Aldenberg.
“Today’s search was prompted by information developed by investigators,” a Massachusetts State Police spokesman said in a statement.
