Tennessee GOP governor signs executive order strengthening background checks

Tennessee Republican Gov. Bill Lee on Tuesday signed an executive order designed to strengthen background checks, and called on the state Legislature to pass the equivalent of a red flag law.

During a news conference, Lee said the executive order would ensure that information-sharing “more closely guarantees the safe, lawful purchase of firearms in Tennessee.”

He also said legislation was needed to address deficiencies in existing gun laws.

“Our current law is proven and effective in many circumstances and many circumstances, especially with regard to domestic violence, but this new stronger order protection law will provide the broader population cover,

NY state judge temporarily closes dormitory school in house at Clarkstown’s request

NEW CITY – A dormitory school operating inside a house along rustic South Mountain Road has been ordered temporarily closed by a New York State Supreme Court justice.

D’Alessio ordered the property owner, Yoel Yzvi Templer, to remove the teenage students from the house, which is perched on the mountain above the two-lane South Mountain Road. She gave Templer’s attorney until April 14 to respond to

What To Know & Do Upon Separation

Some of the problems that commonly arise relating to finances upon separation include:

  • Bills not being paid (eg mortgages, loans, credit cards)
  • Lack of access to financial resources; or
  • Lack of knowledge about current financial position
