On Wednesday 19th April the Court will hand-down judgment in Morgan and others v Ministry of Justice (Northern Ireland) [2023] UKSC 14. The Court will determine whether Section 30 of the Counter Terrorism and Sentence Act 2021 is incompatible with Articles 5 and/or 7 of the European Convention on Human Rights. If so, what (if any) remedy is appropriate. The hand-down will take place at 9:45 am in Courtroom 1.

On Wednesday 19th and Thursday 20th April the Court will hear the case of Secretary of State for Transport v Curzon Park Ltd and otherson appeal

April 11 (Reuters) – A group of video gamers on Monday filed a new legal challenge to Microsoft Corp’s $69 billion bid to buy “Call of Duty” maker Activision Blizzard Inc , after a US judge last month rejected an earlier version of the antitrust lawsuit .

US District Judge Jacqueline Scott Corley dismissed the plaintiffs’ first complaint in March after finding it failed to present enough information to back claims the acquisition would harm industry competition.

Democratic Representative Charles Skold introduced the bill. “Financial resources should not be a barrier to accessing justice,” he said.

MAINE, USA — Legal representation can be a heavy burden for low-income Mainers, but one Maine representative aims to change that.

Rep. Charles Skold (D) of Portland introduced a bill that would help low and moderate-income Mainers to attain legal counsel regardless of their financial capability to pay an attorney.
